We use the 'rank' value to prioritise open tickets within projects. However once the ticket is closed the rank remains and the only way to remove it from the top of the list is to rerank the ticket with a lower number which is very time consuming and also means that the rank list planning board is getting very large.
Ideally I'd like the 'rank' value to be removed when the ticket is updated to closed. Or at least be able to remove this manually. Any ideas?

Only by adding a 'fixed in release' to the ticket prior to closing it.
It is still quite a pain!
