Jira Cloud app on Teams doesn't create link preview

Hello,

I installed the Jira Cloud app on MS Teams and logged in. But it doesn't create preview links. This was the only reason I installed the app.

The app can access to my account because I can tell the Jira bot "find DEV-1234" and it fetches me the issue with correct preview. But when I paste a Jira link in a chat of a colleague, it doesn't show preview.

The app has no settings, so I don't know what to do.

Do you have any idea?

How are you?

If you use the proper URL like https://moveworkforward.atlassian.net/browse/DEV-6877 Microsoft Teams should trigger Atlassian app for the URL unfurl.

However, if the URL does not match the pattern, it won't be happening.

The links are correct and the same. When I paste the link to Jira Cloud chat, it creates a preview for it but when I paste the same link to someone's chat, it doesn't.

Most probably you didn't install the app inside the team/chat where you use the link. The app/bot should be installed there.

Can you please elaborate "install the app inside the team/chat"? I clicked on the Apps on the left navigation bar of the MS Teams [New], searched for "Jira Cloud" and installed it. Is there any other way to do it?

I'm not using mobile. I'm using MS Teams New for Windows 11

BTW thank you for trying to help but you can't. The app doesn't function as expected. I want to tell the Jira app devs but this is the only way apparently. So I hope this message reaches to the devs that their app doesn't work.

When you install the Microsoft Teams app, you add it to a particular team.

OK I just added to a chat and then pasted a Jira link and there is no preview. How can we open a ticket and tell the devs that their app doesn't work?

If you are checking out Teams integration app that can unfurl issue keys when mentioned I would recommend checking out Integration+ for Teams.


You would not need to paste the whole URL and just the issue key and it will show you the ticket and A lot more!
