Jira Cloud page loading slow on "new jira experience"

Hi,

Since migrating to the "new jira experience", page rendering has been extremely slowly. First we assumed it was a network issue related to Atlassian servers being located at the US west coast, but since the Cloud servers turned out to be located in Germany this should not be a problem.

After some debugging it seems like the issue is the JavaScript scripting and rendering on the client side for the new jira experience. This takes significantly longer time than for the old jira cloud and jira server.

Attached is a picture showing a profiling of opening a project and open an issue. This whole process took 13 seconds where Scripting accounted for almost 7 seconds. Have anyone else noticed this dramatic reduction in performance, and is the Atlassian Cloud team aware of this issue?

Hi Kristian,

Thank you for looking into this!

I'd like to ask you a couple of questions to narrow down what could be happening:

  • Does this happen to every user in the instance?
  • Can you try to connect from another network to see if you experience the same behaviour?

I'd recommend you to check out this documentation and also to get in touch with our Support so we can run some other tests to understand what's happening.

Cheers,

Matheus Schonarth
