Jira-Zendesk Mapping - New Tickets Only?

Michelle Benes May 29, 2012

I have configured ticket sharing between Zendesk and Jira. I'm wondering if it's possible to set it up as follows:

  1. If I create a new Jira ticket from Zendesk, the Summary and Description will be copied to Jira.
  2. If I link to an existing Jira ticket from Zendesk, the information in Jira will not be overwritten.

I have created a feature request in Zendesk for this:

I would love to get an answer to this as well.

If anyone developed a bi-directional API (opening a Jira ticket in a specific project will link it to a new Zendesk ticket based on the ticket content and allow a constant handshake between the two systems for the specific ticket).
