Hi,
In most of the projects I'm managing (in the "old" version of jira) we are frequently using the Time estimation and time tracking fields on stories and tasks, and those fields are not available at all in next-gen, so far as I have been able to see. Is this something you are going to add, is it already there but renamed and hidden somewhere, or has it been removed completely as a feature, and in that case why?
It is an extremely useful tool to generate reports of time consumption and time management, so I don't see why it shouldn't be a part of next-gen as well.
Regards,
Marcus
Hello,
Next-gen projects are completly different from classic projects. The Time tracking field was never available for this project. But next-gen projects are under active development. Maybe later the time tracking field will be available for this type of projects.
Alright, thank you for the information.

Quick hack to get time logging back.
Navigate to issue in detail view, then append ?filter=-1 to the url and you will get the legacy issue view, at which point you can open the menu in the top right and log time.
So the feature is still there, just not accommodated for in their new front end. Sigh..

EDIT: here are screenshots showing next gen screens with Time tracking here:

@philosurfer, I took a quick look at the doc but did not see where it was referencing NG projects. While it is illustrating “the new Jira UI” that is independent of “Next-gen”. Regardless, I’m quite sure time logging will be added in the near future.
One last thing to mention here. Your reply here indicates “you” which would convey the message is for Atlassian. Most replies within the Community are from users, e.g. is the case with Alexey and me. If the user has “Atlassian Team” next to their name then they are Atlassians. — cheers
