Hi Admins,
Today my surprise I am unable to find the label created by me. We are using this label to filter one kind of issues. I am the jira admin. Can anyone delete labels in JSM project?
To completely remove a label from Jira, one might have to remove it from all the issues. After which the label will not be shown in suggestions.
There is no such direct way to delete a label in Jira.
Hi @Naresh Gantala ,
As mentioned by @Sandhya Thottamkara , a label will only be shown if it is used on at least one of your issues. Additionally, there is some browser-side caching involved, so a label might stick around a little bit, even if it has been removed everywhere.
Now, you seem to have the opposite problem: A label has disappeared, so where did it go? The easiest way to find out is to check on an issue that you know had that label and check the history. Label changes always show up in the history, so you should see who updated the labels field and when.
Hope that helps,
Oliver

@Naresh Gantala - Did you take a backup of your data? Perhaps you can retrieve the information from there?
