MaxResults appears to be ignored?

Florian sjouw March 27, 2020 edited

Can someone explain to me why it appears as though maxResults is being ignored?

It is also weird that this call always returns 50 results in my application, but when pasted into the browser it appears to behave differently.

At first max results was 50, then I started to remove some characters and changed it from 1000 to 333 and then it became 100 for some reason in the response....

EDIT - Ok the limit changed from 1000 to 100 but that doesn't explain why I get different behaviour between browser and my app.

Some time ago, limits were applied to how many results will be returned for some requests to the cloud version of Jira, irrespective of how high you set maxResults. If you want more than 100 records back, you have to iterate through them in batches of 100.

See JIRACloud-67570 for more information on the history of that decision.
