Merging two JIRA Software and Confluence cloud sites

We recently were demerging with another company and as such had to split our JIRA cloud site. We started a brand new one and started using it, not realising the ideal way to separate the site is to migrate what we need from the existing site first. So at the time we got to migrating the projects over we already had an existing JIRA Software site with projects and issues and Confluence site with pages. Is there any way to merge the 2 sites? In the end we had to start a whole new instance as we couldn't migrate projects from the existing instance in to the new one.

These are the methods we tried (we want to retain activity, comments and attachments so export/import via csv is not an option)

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/merge-multiple-jira-cloud-sites-779160767.html

And as in this article, I don't believe to date there is a straight forward way to do

Wondering if anyone has answers to this?

If you are using jira software projects migration is easy. Just create DC Instance and take a cloud back up and restore in to DC and using cloud migration assistant migrate all the projects

If you have jira service desk projects DC instance option won't work.

Atlassian is providing EAP access for cloud to cloud migration. Please reach them they will enable it for the instance that will make more eazy

@Venkata.Suneel that would be amazing if there is EAP access. We'll log a ticket with them and see what they say.

We tried the DC option but couldn't get the backup from cloud to restore to DC

Hi @Riza Dela Cruz

We recently merged three cloud instance in to one single instance we have not encountered any major issues. All these are only Jira software project only

Does you could instance is having both jira and jira service desk?

Cloud to Cloud we have limitation based on the latest update. Please refer the below link

We did this using Project Configurator add-on.  The time it saved from doing it manually was worth the cost.

Thanks @Nicole Downese were hoping to avoid third party tools, but will consider it if there is no other option

If you have the option to use add-on @Riza Dela Cruz , I can suggest the Issue Sync It will be sync your instances :)

Hi @Carlos Faddul

Issue Sync will create new issues in the corresponding project but it wont create same issue key
