×Hi Community,
I need to add one custom field to multiple projects, one screen is using 39 projects but I need to add a custom field to 24 projects.
Will achieve this by copy the screen and screen scheme, but need more info like any document or video link related to this.
Suggest me the best possible way!!!
Thanks in advance!!!
Hi @Ganesh
Shrikant already gave you some valuable information. How this translates in your Jira instance will be hard to tell from Community member's perspective - but we can surely give here the basic information on screens, custom fields alongside with their schemes.
I found a video for you which explains some of the basics:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/Best-practices-for-issue-types-fields-and-screens-in-a-Jira/ba-p/1656034
The docimentation you can find here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/manage-issue-screens/
Splitting up a screen / screen scheme - what you might need to to if only a subset of projects should be using / showing the custom field in the end - is nothing else than "Copying a screen" and assigning the copy to a project, like Shrikant also said.
Give it a try - it should work out fine.
Cheers,
Daniel

You can configure the custom field by screen using the field context screen but not specific to project. So best approach I can think of is make a copy of the screen and screen scheme you want to use for 24 projects and add the custom field to that screen. Hope this helps.
