Operations with custom fields and scriptrunner code do not update

Hello all,

We currently have the problem that we can no longer execute some workflow transitions in a certain project. This contains many , custom fields. When changing the workflow, the value is set but the page does not load. A loading screen appears, which is usual when making changes. However, this only disappears after the page has been reloaded.

We have found that the function is restored if the Enable HTML in field descriptions and list item values setting is deactivated. The customfields include code written with the ScriptRunner Plugin. 

Is there a way to debug error messages from customfields?
I can't find anything referring to my problem in the atlassian-jira.log files.
