I am unable to delete Epic or Task, I guess I don't have permission for it. When I Ask for permission from Settings, (image 1) appears. When I Opt for permission, (image2) appears. I need to know if my admin Noman "the admin" has this access. And what path he has to follow to give me access.

Plus I also want to know which specific access should I have for delete EPIC and task or Subtask?image (15).png imagse.png

Hello @Syed Usman Shah

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

The tags on your post indicate you are using a free Jira subscription. Is that accurate?

The ability to delete an issue is a project level permission. To provide you with more information about project permissions, can you tell us what type of project this concerns? Get that information from the View All Projects page under the Projects menu. Find your project in that list and tell us what it says in the Type column.

Deleting issues is often restricted to only administrators. In Jira when an issue is deleted, it is permanently deleted. It cannot be recovered, except by restoring a backup of your Jira instance taken at a time when the issue existed. Taking backups and restoring them is the responsibility of the admins of your Jira instance, not a responsibility of Atlassian support.

Because of this it is better to set such issues to a "done" or "closed" status with a resolution of "cancelled.

This Permission is a project specific.

Please follow the below steps.

Project settings--> permissions--> delete issue permission

check the role or group its assigned for this permission and make sure you have access to those.
