Hi all,
We have the field called "Business Impact Score". This field is part of the Zendesk - Jira integration and is being populated via said integration from the similar field in Zendesk. The values are from 1 to 12. A single Jira issue could be associated with multiple Zendesk cases, thus every time a new Zendesk case gets associated with a Jira issue, a Business Impact Score filed's value from this case overwrites a previous case's value. If a new value was less than an old one, that would decrease priority for Jira issue. I'd like to have an automation in place that would check current value of this this Jira field and wouldn't let it be overwritten if a new value is lesser number. The field is of the Single Select type. Could anyone please suggest a solution to my dilemma? I'd greatly appreciate it.
Hi Gregory,
You can't prevent it from being edited, but you can set it back to the previous (greater) value with a rule like the one depicted below
Here I've used "Story Point Estimate" as the sample field
Hope that helps!
You can also add a comment in the jira in another step to explain why the value was reset.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I will test this solution and let you know how it goes.
Just tested out your suggestion and it worked like a charm. Thank you very-very much.
