I am noticing with the new UI the project settings menu is inconsistent for the similar type of project - Company Managed SW.
For few projects it shows only the board settings and for some it shows both board settings and project settings. The location is on the top left corner where the project title is displayed. Is it a custom setting?
Could you please confirm the project type (Team-managed or Company-managed) and the template (scrum/kanban) used to create each project? This will help identify if the menu differences are due to the project configuration.
I am the lead on the projects and org admin for our instance and all projects that I am finding the difference are Company Managed SW projects, like I mentioned above.
I don't know if it is access issue. But it is really strange.
Appreciate your help.

I think I figured out the difference between when the project settings menu is show vs when it is hidden. If the project has a board then the board settings menu is shown where as when there is no board it shows project settings menu.
I would have liked if Jira showed project settings menu irrespective to presence of a board.
