Another workable option for Was Operator to get Project history.

Zailyn Letriz October 5, 2020

I can't use the was function on Projects.  We will get items from the Service Desk Portal and if an item becomes a bug for a developer to fix; we will move this item to their Development Team project.  I am trying to create a Filter that can bring items that where part of the Service Desk Project however, the JSQL tells me was is not supported and I get this message : 'History searches do not support the 'project' field'.  Do you have a suggestions to this problem?

Hi Zailyn, you should not move an issue from JSD project to another project as it breaks the connection to the Customer (reporter). Rather you should use the Create linked issue. There are a number of posts on how to integrate JSD with JSW for this very purpose. BTW, JQL works on issues not projects.

Can you provide the links to the articles or videos that will show this workflow you mentioned?

here is an article I wrote that references this (see the third Q/A) - Frequently-Asked-Questions-for-Jira-Service-Desk

another useful link - How-to-update-service-desk-issue-state-when-linked-issue-in-Jira
