Our Jira cloud instance is still falling over. Is there anything update on what's happening?

Hello,
We apologize for the length of this ongoing incident and for not being more proactive in our communication with you. We understand how mission-critical our products are for you and want to make sure we are relaying the most accurate information possible.

While we really want to get in front of you live to answer your questions, we are prioritizing getting customers up and running first and foremost. We will host an AMA (Ask Me Anything) after we get all of our customers fully restored.

In the meantime, please add your questions here and we will respond as quickly and transparently as we can. Some questions may not be answered until we do an official PIR, but we will let you know that and answer as much as we can now.

Our Chief Technology Officer Sri Viswanath has posted a blog about this incident with more background and details, and our team is working around the clock to move through the various stages for restoration.

We are working 24/7 to restore your service. Thank you to those who have been sharing all the information you know from your support requests. Thank you for being open, honest, and caring for your fellow Community members. This speaks a lot about what makes Community a special place.

@Lee Irwin We appreciate you raising this post and your feedback.

@Dirk Ronsmans Greatly appreciate all of your efforts.

@Dave Bosman [Realdolmen] We appreciate your advice and perspective.

Lastly, if you're unsure if a support request was raised on your behalf, please let me know, and I will personally check. My team and I went through all Community posts related to this incident to ensure everyone's site had a support request.

Regards,

I think the main cause for concern is that we felt pressured into moving to Jira Cloud as Server was being shutdown soon.

Now it looks like you can't even keep Cloud running. It's a very, very bad look. We're reverting back to spreadsheets...for a business like ours its virtually halted all work.

Will businesses be compensated for this?

Hi @Lee Irwin

Even when you are running a server (or datacenter) instance something can go horribly wrong that could result in a big downtime. Cloud is not different in that. However this results in a lot more people impacted. It is never funny when this happens to you but inevitably that at a certain point in time it will happen.

Depending on your license type you can request compensation.

Premium and Enterprise licenses have financialy backed uptime SLA's

You can find more info on following page https://www.atlassian.com/legal/sla

@Lee Irwin,

we got the following update: "...A dedicated team is working around the clock to restore the sites as soon as possible. We expect the restoration efforts to continue for the next several days, and we are actively working on an estimate of when your site will be available to you again...."

I hope the statement in "days" is not confirmed.

Further more i'm waiting for updates on Status Page

Good Luck Atlassian / We need Jira

Massive jokes. They're all in Vegas telling everyone that Jira Cloud is the future, meanwhile a two day outage....guarantee that once the demos are over, everything comes back online.

"More tequila guys!"

"Heck YEAH!"

far from useless as it might alert some readers that Atlassian execs are currently in the world's worst-timed conference! must make for some awkward conversation in the breakfast buffet ;)

@Lee Irwin ,

Only what we/you can find on the statuspage I'm afraid.

For more info you might need to raise a ticket directly with them.

We've done that. Two days without service is pretty poor, considering you're advising people to move to Cloud this isn't the best advert is it?

It’s not the preferred situation no :) Unfortunately outages happen so we have to roll with the punches.

As a customer too we’re all in the same boat.

Two days is a bit much though. Considering they're the all in Vegas at the moment telling people how great their product is...I'm guessing the servers need to be online for the conference. Once the demos are over....back online.

This really isn't acceptable. We have now been without service for almost two weeks, if Cloud can be taken down this easily by a simple error without back up. Wouldn't it make sense to stop pushing clients to the Cloud until these issues are resolved.
