Automation rules library - broken links to the rule examples

It can be observed that in Automation library for rule examples links are broken + no automation rule example is working and the past list displaying useful rules cannot be visible. Anchor link redirect to the parent page.

Can someone provide an input or help with a fix?

Regards

Liviu

Hi @l.seplecan ,

Are you referring to the template library within the product itself (e.g. if you navigate to Automation > Templates), or the official Jira automation template library?

If you could just share some additional details (screenshots or links) so someone can check it out.

Additionally, you can probably reach out to the Support team and they could forward it to relevant content departments.

Cheers,
Tobi

Hi @l.seplecan

Adding to the answer from @Tomislav Tobijas

Sadly, that automation library (formerly called the automation playground) has become neglected for well over a year, with broken links as the rules were renamed / recreated or deprecated due to feature changes.  I just did a quick check and even the rules I specifically bookmarked are gone.

You can try contacting the Atlassian Support team to learn more, however I suspect they will recommend using the rule templates embedded within the projects in Jira.

There are other "templates" described in the knowledgebase, but unlike the templates they cannot be downloaded / directly added to projects.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the outcome. I've raised also a ticket to Atlassian support and got the answer. It was without any scope and clearance: "We will", "it was...." - I was expecting a possible solution or even try to find one, anyway we need to skip this subject because it out of our control and endless.

Thanks

Hey @l.seplecan ,

I talked with Atlassian staff about this a week or so ago and as far as I know, they've escalated it internally.

As far as I can see, the playground is now operational (although, I didn't check all rules). Can you try opening the following link and see if you're able to see rule details: https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/automation-template-library/rules#/rule-list?systemLabelId=all&page=1&pageSize=20&sortKey=name&sortOrder=ASC?

Cheers,
Tobi

It appears to be working now, but the site feels next to useless to me honestly. The "template library" doesn't have really anything very useful and the Automation Playground really doesn't have that many automation examples are quite simple.

Atlassian really should provide more complex examples of what the platform can really do and include Asset automations as well.

Hi @Marcel Hager

There is some asset-related automation guidance in the knowledgebase:

https://support.atlassian.com/search-results/?searchTerm=Asset+automation&deployment=cloud&product=jira-service-management&contentType=knowledge_base

And, you may want to check the templates in the rule list from both the JSM project settings and the global rules level to see if templates are present for asset-related rules.  I do not see any currently, but that may be because my free, test site for JSM does not have assets enabled.

Kind regards,
Bill
