Can I add a new field type to an indepenent project issue

Hi,
I would require to add a drop down menu from which users can select one option for all types of issues in a specific project.
So when I'm a specific project and I have the issue types open, on the right hand menu, I have the option to create a new field in the form of text, date, number, time, labels. How can I add a drop down menu to this selection?

Hello,

You can not add a new filed type. You have to choose from available ones: text, date, number, time and labels. But you can add a new custom field of any of the available types.

You should go to the Project settings -> Issue Types and then choose the issue type, to which you want to add a custom field. Then you will be able to add one.

In short you can not accomplish what you want with the Agility template or any other templates, if you are on Cloud. You could accomplish it if you were in Jira Server with an add-on.

Though in Cloud with another project template, you could do it. You can create a select list and add your issue types to the options. But you would need to mantain this list manually. In Server with an add-on you could make an automated solution.

I've tried that, I created the custom field, but I can't seem to be able to add it to my issues.
