Can i Set a Security Permission so certain group can see an issue?

hi guys,

I am looking at a new project where only Team Leads can see ALL the tickets and the team members can see their only tickets so you can only view essentially your own issue types but your Team lead can see all tickets? Do i need to group leads and the others in two groups?

Is there a way of doing this? I'm assuming something to do with security levels?

Thanks,

Ravi

Dear @Ravi Mistry ,

yes you are right. You can do with creating a Security Scheme. Add two new levels:

  • one called internal (default): Project Role (Team Leads) + Reporter + Assignee
  • other called public: Project Role (Team Leads) + Project Role (Team Mates).

Eventually you can use other already existing roles, instead of the upper - or you create them.

The system field "Security Levels" should be on all screens and it should be mandatory (Field Configuration).

The permission "Set Security Levels" should be only applied to the Project Role "Team Leads". They can, if required, make an issue visible to others by changing the sec level from internal to public.

Hi Tom,

Still struggling with this.

So I have created a Security level shared with the project

Internal - AM Leads - Reporter, current Assignee & Group AM Leads

Propeller - Current Assignee & Reporter.

I have created the option to show the tickets but if someone is creating a ticket that is not a lead they are seeing other tickets. Is there something i have missed?

Dear @Ravi Mistry ,

Press the link "Default" for "Internal ...". Then, you enforce that every issue as a security level.

Note: The "Propeller" will lock out your leads. _Is this what you wanted?

Hi Tom,

So essentially what i want to do is the following:-

Propeller = Only Reporter or assignee can see this ticket AND Leads (leads should be able to see everything)

Internal AM Leads = Can see every issue type created.

Would that  be possible?

Possible but you screen shit shows something different,

Propeller: Assignee + Reporter + Tech Lead

Internal: Tech Tead

Default should be "Propeller" and Tech leads can change the security level to "internal" which makes it invisible for reporters and assignee.
