Follow a migration from JIRA Server to JIRA Cloud, there is an annoying field description which states that the field was migrated and the date it happened.
I've tried to find how to remove it and can't seem to find the correct page.
The text appears under most, but not all fields. The fields are a mixture of Custom and Standard JIRA fields.
For example, the "Fix Versions" field has a description of "Start typing to get a list of possible matches or press down to select.
(Migrated on 14 Sep 2021 11:11 UTC)"
And one of our Custom Fields (it's called "Support Job Link") has "(Migrated on 23 Sep 2021 09:40 UTC)"
I have looked on the Custom Fields page and if I edit "Support Job Link" the description box is completely empty. The non-custom fields also aren't listed there at all so I have no idea where to go to delete the unnecessary and unwanted description text.
I've tried searching to see if anyone else has overcome this issue. Can anyone please help?
Thanks
I'm not sure about modifying the descriptions for non-custom fields, but for the custom fields check the Field Configurations to see if the text is showing in the descriptions of the fields there.
I recall when I worked on Jira Server i had to do updates both in Custom Fields and in Field Configurations to change descriptions on custom fields.
Thank you Trudy :)

The Atlassian support team seem to have a work-around to remove this text for you. Suggest you contact them for assistance.
There is also a suggestion in the JCMA backlog - to make this optional:
MIG-186 Give users the option to remove the "migrated on" text

Thanks Trudy! I've found the additional text within the Field Configuration and am able to remove it.

I pressed the cog in the top right corner and selected "Issues" to get to the Admin section. From there I selected "Field configurations" in the Fields section of the left hand menu.
I had an item called "Default Field Configuration (migrated) which had Field Configuration Schemes associated with it. I clicked "Configure" against this (not Edit).
The next screen listed lots of fields, some of which showed the "Migrated on XXXX" text. I found I could edit this text and remove the unwanted characters.
Good luck!

Are you able to upload a screenshot (with any sensitive information blanked out obviously)?
As Trudy mentioned, there are two places where the description could be being pulled from. Now that I've fixed my setup it's difficult to remember exactly where I had to go to sort it. A screenshot will help to remind me, and I can see what I've got in my setup too.

The Field "Administrator" must have a Description, when i save a Blank field. then it says migrated on XXX again.

The problem I had was that deleting the description didn't actually do a delete. Each time I hit Save it would return.
Rather than deleting it from the Field Configuration page, I had to also delete it from the Custom Fields page.
It seems that any description in the Customer Field Detail is added, as well as anything listed in the Field Configuration,
