Is there a way to change the reporter on a 'To Do' work item after it has already been created? I see there is a 'Modify Reporter' permission, which all of my product team has, but it says they can can "change the reporter when creating a new issue", but not for issues already created.

We can modify the reporter for Bugs, but not To Do's.

Is there a way to do this?

Hi @ajonesduffey - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The Permission Scheme actually has it listed this way:

Modify Reporter
Ability to modify the reporter when creating or editing an issue.

So the users should be able to modify the Reporter. Are they able to modify/edit/update the issue at all? If not, it is probably a symptom of the user not having the ability to Edit Issues.

Check the Permission Scheme for the Edit Issues permission.

Also, while on the Permission Scheme, you can click on the Permission helper button on the top right. Then enter the information for the user and the permission (Modify Reporter) to see if they indeed have that. Then do the same with Edit Issues.

I hope that helps!

Was this there a recent change?  We haven't modified our permissions at all and now suddenly we can no longer edit the reporter.
