I've created a filter and I'm trying to export it to Excel. The filter accurately shows which fields are populated. However, when I export it to Excel, some of the fields are blank for all issues, even though they're populated in the filter.
I've tried recreating the filter, and each time the issue occurs, but different fields are blank. I've even tried recreating the entire project and importing all the issues again.
Any suggestions?
This is where it gets weirder - when I use that option, it does return values for all fields, BUT the fields that don't populate in the Excel export are duplicated 1, 2, 3, or 4 times in the CSV export (the number of times varies each time I try the export). The last duplication of that field is populated, and the others are blank (screenshots below).
Since this export will be ingested into another process, that makes that option unreliable. :-/
It'd be good to get some extra details here. Could you clarify...
A screenshot of both your search parameters, and the exported file, would be very useful here!

Thanks for the reply, @Ste Wright !
I'm creating a filter with the following fields/field types:
Key - Jira's Key field
Jira Identifier - Short text
Summary - Short Text
Status - Kanban category field
RFI Section - Short Text
Description - Paragraph
Additional Description - Paragraph
Current Response - Paragraph
Additional Current Response - Paragraph
Then, I'm using the "Open in Microsoft Excel" option to export, since that (typically) creates an Excel file that's a mirror of the filter, unlike the "Export Excel CSV" option.
Here's a screenshot of the filter results:
And here's a screenshot of the corresponding export to Excel:
You can see that the columns corresponding with the RFI Section, Additional Description, Current Response, and Additional Current Response fields are completely empty, though they're populated in the filter results.
Also, I'm unable to use any add-ons or plugins. I'll need to be able to use the native functions in Jira Software.

The CSV export available via Export > Export Excel CSV (current fields), should also reflect the filter.
Can you try using this option and see if it it also has the fields as empty?

@Mardi J. Bishop If everything else fails and you have to try an app, use the Better Excel Exporter app. It is developed by my team and it will just work with these columns.

@Aron Gombas Better Excel is awesome!! We use it all the time.
@Mardi J. Bishop Have you tried "Importing from Web" in Excel? I have read a few threads on it. I'm still trying to get it to work. But perhaps that's an option for you.
Here's a link to the Thread that might be helpful :

Welcome! Oops Im using server.
Have you tried exporting all the fields? Not just the filter. I like to get everything and that will show you which her populated which don't. Could it be the field specific? Why do some get populated and some don't? Also this could be silly are the fields empty or is the text hiding within the cell. There could be werid spaces etc that could be hiding the text.

Thanks, @Melissa . Yes, I've tried exporting all the fields and I have the same issue. There are certain fields that never populate, and some that populate occasionally but not others. :-/
I did wonder if there was some weird formatting going on, but I confirmed the cells are actually empty.

Hmmm have you tried getting the same data from the Api? Is you see it there then it'll narrow down the issue. Sorry I can't be much hel

Is this a Team-managed or Company-managed Project?
And if Team-managed - do multiple Projects have the same fields?
