Create linked issue not available

Hi,

I have a new project that is not displaying the option of "create linked issue" in the issue options in Jira cloud. It is present in other Service Desk project. I have done the following checks:

• Switch to oldIssueView, didn't show up.
• Check project permissions, it is allow by role and I have one or more of these roles by being a member of a group or directly adding myself to that role. 
• Check the global Issue linking configuration. It is currently ON.

What am I meesing?

That is certainly odd and new. I know that the feature is sadly missing from the new Issue view and I have provided feedback on this. However all of my existing SD projects have this capability in the old issue view with one exception. That exception is a test Next-gen SD project I created. 

Is it possible that the new project is NG? If not I have to wonder if there is a new change that has removed thus feature for new projects. I’m going to do a bit of research on a test instance I have access to.

Thank you for your help, I am afraid my project is not a DG project.

can you share the template you used for this new project? can you share a screenshot of the 'more' options in the old issue view?

I have use an standard Kanban template for this project. I have a custom permissions settings. This is how it looks like:

so I checked two instances (my production and a test instance I have) and both are different from yours. So this leads me to believe that all three instances are different. One of the hazards of Cloud. In both of my instances I am still seeing Create linked issue. You may wish to reach out to Atlassian Support. I would be interested in the response as this functionality is pretty critical to my current workflow.

@jv_sogorb , i was chatting w/ a friend at Atlassian and he wondered if maybe this project was in fact a SW project and not a JSD project. The fact that you posted in Jira collection and not JSD collection makes me wonder the same thing. Can you inspect this hypothesis?

Yes, it is SW project. Is this a limitation? If I am able to link issues, shouldn't I be able to create linked issues too?
