Custom Incident Status

Jennifer Germano July 27, 2021

Hi, I'm trying to figure out a way to add a new customized incident status called Informational. Is there a way to do this? I can create new templates and call them Informational but working looking to create a status called 'Informational' as well.

Hi @Jennifer Germano ,

It depends on the type of the project you are using.

If it's a team-managed project try the following:

  1. From your project's sidebar, select Project settings > Issue types.
  2. From the sidebar, select the issue type you want to edit.
  3. Select Edit workflow.
  4. Using the toolbar at the top of the editor, select a status category for the status you want to create. ...
  5. Give your status a name.
  6. Select Add.

More details can be found here:

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/create-edit-and-delete-statuses-in-team-managed-projects/

For company-managed projects you need Jira Admin permissions. You may refer to this documentation: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-statuses-resolutions-and-priorities/

I hope this will be useful for you!

@Jennifer Germano do you have any news on that?

Did you tried the steps described above?

Greetings, Magdalena

Hi Magdalena,

I don't have team-managed projects set up. I'm reading up on the team-managed projects now and will see what I can do to get that setup.

Thank you for your response and answer!

Jen
