Today I noticed all of our Jira kanban boards having such purple duplicated issue titles under all cards, as you can see on the screenshot. This suddenly appeared (might have appeared earlier last week, when I didn't check these boards, but wasn't present on the week starting on the 17th). I believe we didn't change any configuration. I don't see any indication what these are.
Can you please help me get rid of these? Thank you!
With the help of Atlassian support, the fix was this:
We most certainly didn't change this config, so some Jira update brought it.
An alternative would've been to disable Epic from under the card details settings of each board:
(I guess this is the new feature that caused the duplications to appear.)
However, this would need updating each and every board, and perhaps do that for every users if these are per-user settings.
Hi Zoltán,
Those are the Epic that the issues/cards are children to. It might be that someone changed the configuration of the board to show parents/Epics for the cards.

Hi John,
that's indeed the epic field, but it appeared on all our boards without changing any configuration whatsoever. I believe you are referring to the "Card layout" setting of a board, but we don't have the "Epic/Theme" field added to any of our boards. If I add it, then there's no change, neither after removing it, so it looks like that it gets displayed no matter what.

This is the default for most boards. What type of project is it? Company-managed? Team-managed? Jira Business? Jira Software?

Thanks for your replies!
All of the affected boards are company-managed Jira Software ones.
As Benedek mentioned, we don't have the Epic added to the cards:
We don't utilize Epics in Jira at all (and even if we were, I suppose what we see on my screenshot is if an epic was created for each issue, no?). The Epic issue type is not available for this (or any other) project either.

Do you have a value in the Parent field?

Sorry, now that I look at this more, it is the exact same name as the Summary field. I would try looking at it with another browser and also using Incognito mode for your current browser and see if it is there.

Yes, it's that the issue summaries are duplicated. It doesn't make any sense to me.
I don't see how this would be related to a browser, but I also tried under Firefox (instead of Chrome) and it's the same.

You definitely need to open a support ticket with Atlassian to see what is going on. Please post back here with the solution.
