Error when importing .MPP file?

Hello, when trying to import a .MPP  file we are receiving a generic "error" message. I wish the error message would point to the actual error so we could fix it. Does anyone have any idea on what the error can be? Please improve the error message to include specific information.

 

Could it be because of the Project Import Destination or Issue Type?

hi Hal thank you so much for the reply. How do you produce a HAR file? Also, I will ask our security team if it is acceptable to make a screen recording. thanks!

Hi Ryan!

You can produce a HAR file by the steps below.

  • Open your instance in a Chrome Browser;
  • Open the Browser Console (press F12 or right-click on the mouse and choose Inspect);
  • Navigate to the Network tab, check the box next to preserve log, and perform the steps to reproduce the problem;
  • Save the results as .har file (right-click and choose Save as HAR with content);
  • Attach the files to the ticket.

Hi Hal I do not have a ticket open and it will not let me paste the file here. It would probably be easiest if i could email you the file if thats okay? I cant find a proper plugin section under atlassian support to request a support ticket.

thanks Hal. WGC-2790.  has been created. also, we are using the trial version of this plugin. I can assure you we will purchase the license if we can get this version to work. I hope having the trial version will not inhibit your ability to help us.

Interestingly, despite getting the unspecified error message every time I try to import, I eventually noticed later yesterday that the MPP file had imported anyways. As long as the import works, I guess I don't care what kind of message pops up!

thats great news. Our .MPP file was massive and was probably resulting in timeouts during the import.
