External import with links

alejandra.romero November 8, 2021

Hello,

I would like to upload via a CSV file new issues, that includes an Issue Links of "BA Origen" or "BA Destino". I been able to upload the issues but not the links. I obtain the following message: "Issue link 'BA Origen' between 'APM-76' and 'BA Destino' cannot be created - at least one of the issues couldn't be found." Do i need to create first the issues and then add the links? Can i create the issues with the links? If so, how do i need to configure the csv file?

At the screenshot you can see hoy i configured the csv file for the links, at Link Type I setup the type of link i want to use, and Issue ID the issue i want to link with the new that i'm creating.

Thank you,

To create a link between 2 issues in Jira using the generic issue linking functionality during issue import, you need to create a column that identifies the link type and in that column specify the issue to which you will link.

Simple example showing the Headings and an issue to be imported which will also be linked to APM-76:

New issue summary, Link To Issue as BA Destino
Prueba, APM-76

When you execute the import process, there is a step to map the Columns to Fields. During that step you map the "Link To Issue as BA Destino" column to the the type of link you want to create between the new issue and the specified issue. If you type "link" in the mapping field, it will show you the types of links defined in your Jira system.Screen Shot 2021-11-08 at 9.37.36 AM.png
