When I click on an issue in jira, it automatically downloads a file called "issuewatch". The file is empty when I open it.
I'm having this issue only in an environment from a client and not in our internal environment.
I tried to:
- Clear my browser cache
This only occurs on the Safari browser.
Hey folks 👋
Just found this thread and wanted to mention that I just had this issue appear on Safari Version 15.4 (16613.1.17.1.11, 16613) for Mac.
I haven't seen this behavior on Firefox 98.0.2 (64-bit) and I have not tested Chrome.
Reply have the same issues as well in safari. Chrome or Edges are fine

I can confirm that as well. It appeared suddenly, but for me only in Safari.

Still occurring as of Dec 4, 2022 using Safari Version 16.1 (17614.2.9.1.13, 17614)

Just wanted to chime in and say I see this issue as well. Brand new macOS install on MBP.
- macOS 13.3 (22E252)
- Safari 16.4 (18615.1.26.11.22)
- Ka-Block extension enabled, no other extensions
We shouldn't have to block downloads when browsing the site. The site should not try to give us a download. This is an issue with Jira. Blocking downloads is a workaround.

you can block the issuewatch download in your safari settings

I just checked the Jira software cloud project for this bug and it doesn't seemed like it is logged? If you have the correct license, you can create a ticket as a bug,

I'm also dealing with this issue on my board in Safari on my mac but not in the other browsers.

Hi @merdin ,
it a very strange behaviour. Please could you try if this bug is caused by a third part app.
I know that Exalate Jira Issue Sync caused that bug for some our customers in the past. Are u using that plugin?
Hope this helps,
Fabio

I'm not allowed to request a ticket:
"If you need technical support, ask your site admin to file a request on your behalf. Only Jira Software admins, billing contacts, and technical contacts can create support requests for Jira Software."
Which is a little bit weird, because now I have to ask the client to request a support ticket for me.

@merdin , in my opinion is a wrong setting at browser level. Did u try to ask if other users have the same issue?
I read the following thread https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Jira-Issue-Attachments-Automatically-Download-When-Opening-Issue/qaq-p/1104113 I don't know if it can help you.
Ciao,
Fabio

I saw that thread and that doesn't fix my problem.
I asked some other users and they didn't have the problem, I'm the only one. It is weird because it started occurring only 2 weeks ago while I'm using the environment for at least 2 months.

it's confirm that is a browser setting and not a product bug.

Merdin, you're not the only one that has this issue. :)
Just started happening to me with Safari (Version 15.3 (17612.4.9.1.5)) on MacOS (12.2) about the roughly the same time. I have no plugins installed (outside of Okta).

I too am having this issue. When I view the network traffic in the Safari console I see a failed load for issuewatch with a 401. The URL in question is:
https://pscloud.cprime.com/refapp/plugins/servlet/kepler/issuewatch?...
This appears to be related to the Power Scripts plugin for Jira. I am going to try and file an issue with their team.

Same here :-(
Did you get any feedback from the PowerScript vendor?
