×Hello,
We are using a Jura cloud.
I have filter created in Simple mode using the filters fields. It worked fine and it was possible to change the filters in this Simple mode. May be after some upgrade was done the same filter requires to be updated only in JQL mode. Trying to switch to Basic give message "This query is too complex to display in simple mode."
Is this a permanent change into the filters and what is considered to be a "complex" query.
Thanks,
Denitsa
Can you share the JQL that is giving this error?
project in (ITOS, IONSD) AND issuetype = Epic AND "Customer Reference[Short text]" ~ "1948" ORDER BY created DESC
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
This doesn't look to be complex query. Can you try removing "Customer Reference[Short text]" ~ "1948" and see if it allows you to switch to Basic?

Removing the Customer reference from the filter doesn't help. It is not possible to switch to Basic.

I think if will be better to raise the issue with Atlassian support in this case.

Would you or anyone from Atlassian Team be able to help on this?

hello Team,
I did a quick check on my instance and it works fine
project = "AC" AND "community test[short text]" ~ "community" ORDER BY created DESC
It allows me to change the it basic and JQL mode
Could you please create a ticket here or let me know if you have already create a ticket here https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/
This would help to further gain access and check

I am having this same issue, and it's only an issue with the old issue search.
It began happening last Monday (3/17/2025). I had been using this filter for a couple years without issues
The issue is with any kind of AND statement. If I remove the AND for the issuetype filter, I can search and then use the Switch to Basic button:
From that view, I can then add the same issuetype filter right back in from the comboboxes and search successfully from Basic:

Issues appear only for some of the filters. I have few that are similar and have issue just with one of them. I opened a support ticket.
