GMail add on warning 'You can only create issue types supporting inline issue creation.'

I have sucessfully added the add-on to my GMail account and I create tasks from it for 2 old projects in my Jira account but for the more recent projects I get the message 'GMail add on warning 'You can only create issue types supporting inline issue creation.'' and I'm unsure how to fix this.

I found out the reason this wasn't working but a problem still persists. The issue was using a custom 'Required' field that had been set from a different project so I unselected it on the screen for this project. However now it will not allow me to submit an issue even from within Jira as it says a required field is missing.

that sounds like you have the field defined as required in the field configuration that the project is using.

You have to go to the field configuration and make it optional there. It doesn't matter if you don't have the field in the screen, it remains being mandatory anyway
