JQL is working but while generating URL above error is displaying:
eg Url : https://company.atlassian.net/rest/api/2/search?jql=issueFunction%20in%20linkedissuesof("key=.......")
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
issueFunction is a Scriptrunner function. On server, you need to have Scriptrunner installed to be able to use it. On Cloud, you need SR as well, but you also need to be using Scriptrunner's Advanced Search, the function cannot be used in plain JQL (yet - we're working with Atlassian to try to enable us to create apps that can add functions to JQL in Cloud)
Is there any update for implementing/enabling this functionality? Lacking the ability to use enhanced JQL in queries limits a lot of possibilities. Thanks

Much of what you can do with issueFunction can be done with the Advanced search.
We're working with Atlassian on getting the advanced searches to work in the main search so you don't have to dip out to another place to use them.

How can I search issues whose parent tasks or epics match a given pattern? I'm struggling to get this to work, either with Scriptrunner's issueFunction (which isn't working) or with Advanced Search in JQL.
Can someone please explain what's necessary to make issueFunction work, aside from installing the Scriptrunner plugin?
Thanks

Hi Daniel,
I can confirm to make issueFunction work in Jir Cloud, you need to use the Enhanced Search Page.
Once you have defined your filter on your enhanced search page, you can use it inside regular Jira in places like filters, boards and dashboards by following the steps below.
1. Save the filter and share it (This creates a copy of the filter as a standard Jira filter where we synchronise the list of issue keys returned by the enhanced search filter.)
2. Navigate to the area where you need to use this filter JQL and reference your filter in the JQL box using the JQL like below.
filter='NameOfHisSharedESFilter'
If you want just the enhanced search JQL functions, then we have the standalone Enhanced Search app that provides these at a smaller cost.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Kristian

Thanks for the reply – that's useful information for sure.
Where do I find the name of the filter, e.g. `NameOfHisSharedESFilter`?
From your reply I assumed that the custom filter would have an ID; now I understand this is simply the text-name of the filter I have chosen.

Yes this is just the text name you give the filter when you save it.
