Hello Everyone. I have few JIRA requirements , not sure it's possible or not in JIRA

Neha Beohar September 13, 2021

1. Investigate if possible how to do bulk amendment of eg. Acceptance Criteria data.

2. Identify missing Jira # for the rows which have been marked as "Existing" but do not have a Jira # included in the excel.

3. Need to do fields mapping in JIRA.

If anyone of you who have done similar task, please help.

Regards

Hi @Neha Beohar and welcome!

  1. You can do bulk changes in Jira. But I would like to know more about what you actually need to do, prior of telling you how to do it. Bulk change in Jira is dangerous, if you don't know what you actually do.
  2. Can't say that I understood what exactly you need to do here.
  3. What kind of field mapping needs to be done?

I believe that you have to give us a lot more so that we can help you.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your response.  My requirement is to create a  new custom fields in Jira. Then perform bulk edit on those custom fields. Is it possible in Jira?

2. If possible how to do bulk amendment (Editing) of  Acceptance Criteria data in JIRA.

Regards

Neha

I'm afraid repeating the unclear sentences do not explain them.

  1. As Alex already covered, yes, you can create custom fields and use bulk-edit to update them.  To do it, you search for issues and then use the "bulk edit" function from the search results.
  2. Could you explain your second question a bit more?
  3. And what are you trying to "map"?
