I have a number of users who are no longer with the organization, their account in AD is disabled(AD managed by other party). The users own several boards and filters, some of which are pointing to projects that were deleted.
For active users with the same scenario, I've been able to use Scriptrunner to claim ownership of the obsolete filters and boards and delete them. However, I cannot claim ownership of anything belonging to an inactive user.
Has anyone encountered the same issue?
Hey @Pete, if you are a system admin, you should be able to go into Administration -> System -> Shared filters. This will give you a list of all the shared filters, and on the right side is a gear symbol. If you click on that, you should have the option to change owner. Hope that helps!
Hey @Pete
Complementing Lizzie's suggestion, the only way to claim ownership of filters owned by inactive users is in case this filter is shared. Then Lizzie's suggestion is accurate.
In case you want to take ownership of private filters/boards, the only way is by reactivating this user and impersonating his/her account. This option to Log in as user is available for site-admins.
You can reactivate this user just to solve this problem and then deactivate it after that.
We also have a feature request to make this easier to our jira admin customers.
Feel free to vote for it: Allow administrators to manage filters owned by inactive users
Hope this helps!

Hey @Gabriele Franck - looks like that feature request was closed by back in January and you can't vote for it.

Hi @John Funk, not sure why it was closed as not a bug, since it is a suggestion and not a bug (duh!)
I've reopened it and you can vote and add any comments over there now ;)
