×Hi,
Today, i will try the concept "Creating new issues or comment from email " in on demand JIRA.
- On demand JIRA have default mail server "jira@company.atlassian.net"
Then i will create two mail handlers configure with the default mail server ( jira@company.atlassian.net ) for two different projects ( Test-1 , Test-2 ) with different issue types.
- When i send the two mails to this jira@company.atlassian.net ( for creating issue scenario )
- First mail create issue in the project "Test-1"
- Second mail create issue in the project "Test-2"
It's correct behaviour? or How to configure the default mail (jira@company.atlassian.net) server to many ( more than one ) mail handler?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Jason, I am also trying to clarify this same question. It is a question of relationships between the MailServerPopImap and the MailHandler, and what is technically required by JIRA.
Can the relationship be 1-many ? a) Can multiple MailHandlers be configured to use a single MailServerPopImap ?
Or is the relationship required to be 1-1? - b) One MailHandler to one MailServerPopImap?
I have seen it working both ways in older download versions, but anm not sure of the required configuration now in Download and OnDemand. Please can you clarify ?
Hello,
I am Administrator of a growing company and we receive many orders for different projects. Based on this thread I assume that the final word is that for each project there should be only one email set up.
Please confirm or let me know if I am wrong.
Kind Regards,
Shizar

I want to use one POP mail server to create tickets in multiple projects. Can I do this? Or is it mandatory to have one dedicated POP mail server for each project?

Good catch. In hindsight I should have mentioned that it should be a 1-to-1 relationship.

More info. I am including a knowledge base article which might help guide you through this:

Hope this helps!

That is the intended behavior. Note: To set up issue and comment creation from email, you will need to create a mail account for a POP or IMAP mail server that JIRA can access – typically, one mail account for each JIRA project. For example, for the 'ABC' project, you might establish an account abc-issues@example.com
