How to confirm a newly added field in the screen layout

Hello,

I was able to add a new custom field and have it to be linked with a screen but I'm looking for the way how I can confirm the location of that filed in the screen.

Attached screen tells "You can configure the order of fields and tabs in a project by going to Project settings > Issue layout" but how I can navigate to "Issue layout"? (There is no such menu under "Issues" category.

Thank you,

Hi @Takak Ohashi ,

As Tim mentioned, you can find all issue layouts used in a specific project in the project settings. Another way to edit the issue layout is to go there from the issue view itself. You can find a small cog wheel + "Configure" in the lower right of the issue view. That will lead you to the issue layout configuration.

Thank you, Max. I cannot find "issue view". I can come to "Issue" category by selecting "Screen" from Project setting and then clicking "Edit Issue", but there is still not "view" or "layout" there.

Are there any alternative way of viewing a screen?

Thank you,

Hey @Takak Ohashi ,

I just noticed that it's a bit different in the project administration for Service Projects. But when viewing an issue (that's the issue view I talked about), you can find the cog in the lower right as well. You have to head to the request type configuration from the project administration. From there, you simply select the request type you want to edit and will find this view which is what you're looking for:

Thank you so much, Max. That is what I wanted to find and I see the layout in the screen in which I can update the order of fields. Appreciated your comment to hit the point.

Hi @Takak Ohashi

They mean go into a specific project and then click Project settings > Issue layout.

Thank you, Tim. Unfortunately, I don't see "Issue Layout" from Project Settings at my end. (See attached screens)

Do I need to take some other way to come to layout view?

I see that you are using the Company-managed project. If you look at the screen-shot you posted originally with your question, that is the screen you will want to look at. The fields will show up in the order that they are in Screen with a couple of caveats. The fields will show up in their respective spaces. So for instance a date and time field will show up on the right when viewing a issue.

Thank you, Tim. Finally I reached to the layout via "Request Types" and I'm OK with updating and designing the existing screen.
