How to maintain current issue data when using a screen to create a new issue

Priscilla Achampong August 14, 2019

Hi Community,

I'm having a problem of data being overwritten in a current issue when using a screen to create a new issue. I worked out this is because the screen has the same fields and is changing the data in the current issue and writing that to the new issue.

Is it possible to use a screen to specify data to be written to a new ticket on transition, without changing the data in the current issue?

Thanks.

Hi. You need to create new fields with the same names and use them on the screen.

OR for a similar task, we use this plugin

Hi Roman,

Thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately this will overwrite the data in the current issue. Alternatively, if I create new custom fields with the same data I will lead to duplicate administration on the fields when updates arise.

I've been made aware there may be a way to revert data in a current issue if present on a screen. Do you know of any post-function which would do this?

Thanks.
