Hello Trécy,

In order to delete an organization, you need to :

  • Back up you data (just in case)
  • Remove domains and products from your organization (article here)

Once these steps have been completed, the delete button will be available.

You can find all the information needed in this article : Delete your organization

Hope I help,

Regards,

Good day, Elise,

I need your kind help with the same issue I'm facing: I wanted to delete an organization, but the delete button is grey and not active.

I followed these instructions:

  1. Delete your organization | Atlassian Support

However, the button remains grey and inactive.

Then I followed other instructions regarding:

  1. Remove domains and products from your organization | Atlassian Support

As, I did not have any domains, so there was nothing to delete.

However, I have a couple of products with the following message:

"Product offline This Jira Service Management is currently unavailable. Contact us at support.atlassian.com for help."

I pressed many buttons next to each product, but I was unable to find any delete buttons.

I don’t know what to do. Could you please help me resolve this issue, if you have ever encountered a similar case before.

Looking forward to your reply.

Elise,

I have the same exact problem. One of my users created two bogus organizations which I then removed the products as above, all the users, etc. and yet there is no "delete" button available.

How can we delete these?

I tried to contact support for these, but the system tells me that since they are "free" subscriptions I have no online support.

Thanks!

Hello Galym and Tom,

If the button is still in grey after waiting as the article suggests it (see in the screenshot below), you need to create a ticket on the Atlassian Support.

It works even if you are in free plan: create a ticket and in product, select only Jira and enter your site name.

Another solution : If you are the billing contact you can go to https://www.atlassian.com/purchase/my/ and manage your licenses here.
Expand the SEN related to your site and select Cancel subscription. Your site will be deleted. Tom, you can ask to your user to delete it.

Hope I help.

Elise

I'm having this same issue... very frustrating.

  • A user inadvertently created a new Organization when they meant to create a new Space
  • It has never had any content, any URLs, any users, any licenses, anything. It's totally blank.
  • I've followed the steps to remove all product licensing - the documentation does not match the User Interface, but to the best of my knowledge, I don't have any active licenses.
    • In fact the site itself is dead, saying I don't have an active subscription and that my trial has expired. It won't load.
  • And then waited >90 days
  • The button is still grayed out

If I try to contact support, it keeps telling me I don't have a paid subscription for this Org, and to sign up if I want support. I do have an active subscription with my primary Org... this one was mistakenly created by an end-user.

Has anyone figured out how to resolve this? :crossed_fingers:
