I would like to know if there any add-on or procedure is available fro my requirement. The requirement is like when a user transitions an issue from one status to another status, a CSV file will be imported in the transition screen and the field values should auto-populate after the transition......just like CSV import functionality in Jira.
Please let me know if anyone went through this type of requirement.
Hi @Eshwar Palem - I am not aware of any functionality to upload a CSV on the fly like that. Depending on the number fields to be populated and the number of values for each field, you might could go at it from another direction. Make sure Automation for Jira or ScriptRunner or something like that.
Can you be a little more specific in what you are tying to accomplish?
Hello @John Funk ,
Yes, I know this is something out of the box. But this was one of my client's requirement, Let me explain you in detail about this with an example.
Example:
Suppose there are two statuses In-Progress and In-Review. When an issue is transitioned from In-Progress to In-Review some fields need to be filled out for issue and in that case, we will be placing a transition screen on the transition and the user will give the values for the fields. Instead of that can we provide a functionality just like CSV import in order to populate those fields automatically. I was asking whether an add-on is available for that. I know this is some really complex, just trying to know if anyone has gone with this type of requirement and if yes what was the appropriate solution for this.

Can't you just default the value in the transition screen field to the desired value?

What if there are open text fields..where value is set by user like Label field?

How many fields need to get set? And do all of the fields have a set list of values? If just open text, how would you know what to place in the field from a CSV anyway?
Personally, I would not use Labels because it is open text - but would rather use Components in that case.

We are not using the labels, I was giving you the example of the user-defined values where we cant set the default values.
Anyways, I think this should be under our custom development.

Okay. Is there anything else I can help with on this question? If not, could you click on the Accept answer button to close it out?
