JIRA Fields Unable to be highlighed/selected in Chrome 136.0.7103.93

Post updation of chrome browser to 136.0.7103.93, JIRA drop down fields are not highlighting in the screen when selected. Post clicking on the outer surface the selected option is visible. How to fix this issue.

Current Jira Version: Data center 8.22.6

Hi Naveen!

I believe you are seeing an issue due to a behaviour change in Chrome (this is known to affect multi-selects rather than drop-downs, though these do look similar). Please see this issue about this issue: JRASERVER-78786

Chrome are in the process of reverting the change, which should fix this for you. There are some workarounds detailed on the issue above which will allow you to fix this in the meantime. We are also pushing a change which will prevent this recurring if Chrome push this change again to supported versions of Jira DC (I note that 8.x versions are beyond end of support, however).
