JIRA TEST

Hello community,

 

i wonder if somebody is using a JIRA test enviroment in order to tell me how is licensing system. is the same as the production? i mean, if a hve 100 users y should pay for 100 users in test in spite of only3 or 4 users will access to test?

It's not widely announced, but if you have a commercial licence for Jira at 25 users or above, then you also have a "developer" licence.

This licence is for

  • Setting up development systems for people to develop interfaces or apps against (ideally a copy of production)
  • Setting up test instances so your people can play with non-production systems (play with new plugins, mess with config and so-on) without messing up your actual issue tracker
  • Disaster recovery
  • Testing upgrades or patches

And:

  • It must not be used for a production system
  • It matches your production licences - same number of users, same end date

You can get this by going to your my.atlassian.com account, finding the Jira licence key and looking at the links beneath it - one of them is "developer licence" and it'll simply pop up a box with a new licence key for you.

sorry for coming back to you but i am little bit lost.

I have got 100 user licence, does it mean that i have test enviroment as well?

in this case, and based on your experience, howshould i proceed to get it?

No, you have a developer licence for 100 users.  That can be used in a test system if you choose to build one.
