Basha November 2, 2018 edited

Hi ,

I am engineering  the installing of jira software 7.9.2, And i see, Postgress 9.2 9.4 9.6 are in supported list, and i see 9.4 is the only bundled & tested. But 9.6 has all the latest bug fix available .

so, please let me know, Which one should i pick up. And why ?

Hi!

What kind of concerns have you met? I did not see reference to bug.

BTW, If I were you, I will use the latest from the list. (9.6)

Cheers,

Hi,

Postgressql DB 9.4  or 9.6 , Which is better suited for JIRA software 7.9.2., This is what my concern is.

Thanks

Hi!

well, I can suggest to read all release notes between 9.4 and 9.6

https://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.6/static/release.html

Or if you want to faster let's check here

https://www.postgresql.org/about/featurematrix/

BTW, if i were you I will use latest version.

Cheers,

Thanks Gonchik Tsymzhitov for response.

can you please address below query too.

That latest version of postgress is (10.5) which is NOT supported by JIRA & when compared to postgress 9.4 & 9.6  you say latest version is to be preferred ,  Then, Atlassian pages  says below: (https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver079/supported-platforms-950288096.html)

IRA is tested and bundled with the 9.4 JDBC driver. You can also use the latest JDBC driver for your PostgreSQL version, though we can't guarantee it will work with your version of JIRA. To use a different JDBC driver:

Can you please explain the reason, That we should go with latest version of postgress 9.6, when compared with postgress 9.4 for JIRA software 7.9.2.

Thanks in advance !!!

Ameer
