Jira cloud have subtasks inherit their priory

Sarah Jones March 11, 2022

I have a post function on my create subtasks so when the subtask is created it inherits its Priority from the parent.

I am using "copy value from other field" yet it doesn't seem to work when I create a subtask.  Have I missed something?

Is it because the workflow for task and subtask are the same? should they be separate?

Thanks

Can't be sure, but is the issue with the fact that you are trying to update before the issue(s) formally "create"? example of a workflow that is copying fix version from parent issue to subtask:

No doesn't look like it, the issue is created first. then the priority field is set from the parent.
