Hello I am writing this on behalf of someone else, so any request for screenshots may take longer than usual, however, with the description they provided:
"Jira intermittently not allowing to "save comment" (including attachments). The save option is grey, however, if you navigate away from the page without cancelling the comment, then click back into the comment field with the comment and/or attachment still there, the save option is no longer greyed out. Multiple users have been experiencing this problem on and off in the team since recent and restarting the computer does not fix it."
Any ideas on what could be causing this problem?
Hi Jayden,
The most likely scenario causing this is due to attachments in the comments not being fully uploaded. Might this have been the case for the intermittent times the issue occurred?
Regards
Yi Ming
Hi Kuan Yi Ming,
Thank you for your fast response.
I have gotten confirmation from the user that it does only happen when including attachments. However, I was doing some testing of my own to see if it happens to me where I included a bunch of attachments and the button didn't go grey for even a second.
They also mentioned it happens about 50% of the time that they include attachments. If this helps for any relevant information.

Hi Jayden,
File sizes are the biggest determinant here - as it takes longer to upload larger files, the button remains greyed out for longer too.
