Hello,
Somehow I have a sprint, which is now OLD (sprint 2).
We have started new sprints (at Sprint 6 at the moment), but still Sprint 2 is still displayed as "Future sprint".
I.e. when I create an issue and I want to assign it to a sprint I see this:
Sprint 2 (future sprint)
Sprint 5 (current sprint)
Sprint 6 (future sprint)
How do I fix this - I want Sprint 2 closed and gone?
The problem was solved by Atlassian support, here is their reply:
I've checked on the configuration of your instance, and it turns out that in the database there are two Sprints named "Sprint 2". The one from your board is completed, just as you expected. The other Sprint 2, which was never started, appears to be associated with a board that has been deleted, and so is an orphaned entity. It should've been removed together with the board, so I've deleted it manually, and now it won't show in the field suggestions. I've also run a re-indexing in your JIRA to make sure that the changes are applied correctly.
I am having the same issue.. can you let me know how can i delete the same please

Hi Dimitar,
it seems that you have a board with a sprint "Sprint 2" that never started. Please go to this board in plan view and delete this sprint. If there are any issues on this sprint you have to move them first.

Unfortunately no board displays Sprint 2 anymore.
I have somehow started other sprints, and THE ONLY sprints shown in all other boards is Sprint 5 - the current one.
So that's the actual problem - I can't see "Sprint 2" in the upper left corner in order to close it.

hmm, this seems to need a direct creation of a support ticked. Sorry.
It was not obvious where to post support tickets in the support.atlassian.comsite...

Hi Dimitar,
did you check all boards for Sprint 2? Go into work mode and click on "Sprint 2" (top left corner). A popup menu will apear where you can close this sprint.
