Problems with users not being able to close tickets

I have users who are assigned the 'Close Issue' permission for a project but are not able to close issues. I have used the permission helper and get the message '.........not a member of the atlassian-addons-project-access project role.'

I have found this group within settings (project roles) and added our users as a default group. However when I then go back to the project to add the group into project roles, they are not there. I think it could be due to the fact that 'Changing the 'default members' for a project role will not affect role membership for existing projects.'

So, how can I sort this for existing projects?

Hey there Sarah!

It's quite unusual that in order to close a ticket, they'd need to be in the atlassian-addons-project-access project role. As far as I can tell, that role (and its entry into the project permissions) were to allow Cloud add-ons to access the project if necessary.

With that said, would you mind sharing some screenshots of the permissions (especially the close issue permission) for that project? I'd like to see if there's anything we may be missing in terms of permissions.

Thanks Joe, I've managed to find a workaround for this by adding the user to another group :)
