Reorder Statuses in Jira Work Management List view

Stefanie Ramsay September 25, 2024

I created a Jira Work Mgmt board and added some custom statuses. In the list view, I want to reorder these statuses so that "In Progress" is above "Scheduled to Publish". Is there a way to do this? Screenshot 2024-09-25 at 10.20.55 AM.png

Hi @Stefanie Ramsay , welcome

Yes there is. when editing a workflow, you can select the diagram mode.

In this mode, you click on an arrow that represents the status change process, then a small window opens on the right, with a link under the Options: Properties

click Properties and a new window opens with the Transition Properties list.

There you can add a property as a key-value pair:

key = opsbar-sequence    value = number

The numerical order is the order in which the statuses will appear in your menu.

If you have 10 20 30 40 as numbers, you can always put a status transition in between (so that makes the solution a bit more future proof)

Hope this helps,

Dick

Thank you for your reply! I tried your suggestion and the statuses are not changing. Did I do this correctly? Screenshot 2024-09-25 at 11.31.49 AM.png

Hi @Stefanie Ramsay , you've done it correctly.

Have you done it for each transition in your workflow? The order of the statuses should follow the order of the numbers of the transitions you have put in.

I must tell you, I postulated this answer, since it orders the status list when editing an issue:

I hope this helps,
