Setting the default value according to a custom field

Hi Everyone,

Can we fix the default value in a custom field according to another multi select custom field in the same ticket?

Hi @Tharindu Randipa - You're looking for enabling cascading behavior between fields and this is unfortunately not possible natively.  You have a few options:

  • Cascade Select Custom Field: If you're only looking at a two-level cascade, you could consolidate your two fields into a cascade select custom field.  This will allow you to set parent and child values.
  • Assets: If you have the Insight/Assets feature in your environment, you could leverage objects and replace your existing custom fields with Insight/Asset fields.  These offer the ability to provide cascading behavior
  • Marketplace: I believe there are a few 3rd party options out there that will allow this functionality.
