Hello,
I have created an additional column for the tracking view of the structure addon.
For the dashboard gadget of the structure addon, I have selected the tracking view.
I can't see my new column in the gadget, I can't even add it. Do I have to define it again or am I looking at the wrong place?
Hello Michael,
As it was already mentioned earlier here, please check if the view was saved after the new column was added. The new column would be not be deleted after logging out, it would remain in the cache for a while.
If the view is not saved, you will see a blue asterisk in its name and you would need to click the View button and click either Save(to update the same view) or Save as(to save this view as a completely new view) there. When the view is saved, it should look the same when selected in Structure gadget.

If the view's column doesn't match in the structure and in the gadget, please contact us directly at support.almworks.com so we could properly investigate this matter.

This can also be the case, yes! If you're not the owner of the view, you need to have the 'Update' permission to be able to change it. Alternatively, you can save the changed view as a completely new view and use it in Structure gadget instead.

Perfect. I saved it as a new view assigned it to the gadget and it looks the same. Problem solved. Thanks.

I would think so unless I'm missing something. I changed that view, logged out and in again and the column is still there.
Typical support question :-) Could have asked that myself :-)

Hi @Michael Werner did you save the View after you changed it? I'm doing this mistake quite often :D

Can you post screenshot of both views in Structure and Gadget?

Hello Martin,
I sure can:
This is the view of the structure. You see the column "Remaining Time"
And the view from the gadget without that column
Thanks,
Michael

Now I know what you meant when asking if I have saved the view, I thought I had but in fact, I hadn't because I did not have the permission to do so. I assumed it was saved automatically because after several days the column was still there. Must have been some caching or something.
For others: if you change something in a view watch out for a blue asterisk next to the name of the view. If you don't see it you either have saved the view or don't have permission to save it. In the latter, the changes are for your eyes only and may disappear after some time.
