After spending many hours building a custom solution, I now see that there is a Subtasks progress bar on Jira. I am pretty sure that this was not there before, but I could be wrong.
This is super cool but I need to access the % Done value as I need to display it on the Customer Portal. Is there a way of displaying this value on the Customer Portal, or alternatively, sync'ing it into a custom field that is shown on the Customer Portal?
Hello @Gawie_Bing
When you say "as I need to display it on the Customer Portal."
Do you mean the customer portal for the service desk?
As per the docs, the sub-tasks are for internal (back-end use only)
And currently it's an open request
Yes, I am aware that you can't use sub-tasks on the Customer Portal. I have already hit this limitation when I needed the customer to approve sub-tasks of a job (issue).
It is only the sub-task % complete value that I want to show on the Customer Portal, and not the sub-tasks themself. I did build an elaborate solution to this using the Abacus add-on, some customer fields, and some calculations. It just feels like a very long way around at calculating and displaying a value that is already there.

Hello @Gawie_Bing
I don't think it's possible to show the %complete of sub-tasks on the customer portal. As i haven't come across this in the Atlassian docs or on the community.

Thanks for your response. I was hoping to find where the value is stored in Jira, and then copy it into a custom field, which I display on the Customer Portal.
Don't worry, as I have already built a solution, it would just have been nice if Jira allowed this value to be tapped into.

Hello @Gawie_Bing
Great to know that you already have a custom solution built to support your requirements. May be if possible you can share the solution via an open source project with rest of the community members.
