Why don't sub tasks show on backlog view of boards?

Why and will they ever fix it so you can see sub-tasks tied to stories on the backlog view of the boards? Read this and does not explain why , how else can you view the work and linkage easily?

Hi @Bar T,

Similar discussion found here. The work and linkage should be viewed in the active sprint view rather than the backlog view as the backlog is for planning and ranking on the Story-level.

If you use a Kanban board with a backlog applied you can view sub-tasks in the backlog view however, it is still a Kanban board and does not come with the same functionality as the Scrum board.

Hope this helps

Actually, I strongly believe that this should be a decision on the user side and not a restriction on the Jira side. That restriction makes the system less flexible and the user a little more confused.

I really would like to see this implemented.
