Widget Jira Calendar

Christine de Thibault January 7, 2025

Hello.
I have created a dashboard in JIRA with the widget JIRA calendar.
But I don't understand what is the meaning of the colors displayed into the calendar for each ticket : Black / Red / Orange / Yellow
Does anyone can help me to understand what they are referring to ?
I tried to understand but I don't find any relevant pattern that could explain that.

Thank your for your help.

Hi @Christine de Thibault

Welcome to the Community!

The colors in the JIRA Calendar widget usually indicate the status or priority of issues, but they can vary based on how your JIRA system is configured. Here’s a general breakdown of what the colors typically mean, though it’s always a good idea to check your specific system’s configuration:

Black: This could indicate tasks or issues that are in a closed or resolved state, meaning no further action is expected.

Red: Often used to signify high priority issues or overdue tasks, which need immediate attention.

Orange: Typically used for in-progress tasks or warning statuses, suggesting that the issue is not yet complete but is progressing.

Yellow: Usually indicates tasks that are upcoming or soon due, meaning they’re in the near future but not yet urgent.
